![]() Abhaya Dandekar Plant Sciences Home Page The central goal of my research is to define the 'fruit genome' focusing on the genes that determine various quality attributes in fruit and nut species grown in California. We are particularly interested in functional genomics and pathway analysis of fruit quality attributes like flavor volatiles, sugar-acid balance, fat/oil composition, color (carotenoids), texture, size, seediness/seedlessness, tannins. We are also investigating the underlying mechanism of some fruit and nut disorders with the aim of reducing them. Curriculum VitaeResearch Slides |
