My research program is focuses on (1) pharmacokinetic studies of flavonoids and their metabolites in biological matrices (2) the characterization and quantitation of flavonoids and flavonoid glycosides in foods and determining how preharvest and postharvest factors influence levels of critical phytochemicals in foods and (3) understanding the influence of diet and environmental factors on the expression of biotransformation enzymes and how this relates to biomarkers indicative of oxidative stress (e.g. in vivo protein modification, GSH:GSSG ratios).  My research strengths are in phytochemical separations and identifications, analytical chromatography and bioanlytical mass spectrometry.
